If you’ve joined our baby music lessons in Rotterdam, you may have noticed: we sing many of the same songs again and again. For adults (especially parents in the international community), it can feel… well, a bit repetitive. But for kids, routine is magic.
Research shows that predictable routines help children feel safe and support learning (NAEYC). Even in music, repetition builds memory and anticipation, which makes children more confident. Babies actually get upset when expected sequences are changed unexpectedly – because predictability helps them feel secure (Vanderbilt research).
That’s why we keep our songs consistent year-round. But! We add little seasonal twists — a winter bell here, a spring flower there — so parents stay inspired too.
